Garden WillowGarden Willow Weekend Courses 2010

At the Farmland Museum & Denny Abbey
Garden Willow 24th-25th April and
Basketmaking 28th August and 17th October 2010 10am-5pm

Discover the wonderful world of willow and the traditional craft of basketmaking. Learn about and make simple and practical supports for your garden plants at this hands-on Garden Willow Workshop. Beginners will get the opportunity to make a piece for the garden using the traditional craft of basket-making. Those who already have some experience will benefit from the skill and guidance of a professional basket-maker. On the basket making workshop beginners should complete a couple of simple baskets. On one day courses you really can make a basket in a day! Take home your own fruit, plant display or small planter basket.

TUTOR
Sandra Barker is a working basketmaker who demonstrates, teaches and works throughout the country. She is one of only eight Yeoman of the Worshipful Company of Basketmakers.

FACILITIES
The course will take place in The Farmland Museum's Education Base. You will need to bring some materials with you, and a list of these will be provided when booking. You may also like to bring a picnic lunch or buy a light lunch from the cafe. There are toilets and parking on site.

The weekend will cost £60 for both days and £45 for a single day, including the cost of the willow, which is provided on the day by the tutor.
